Latest Rule Changes

Dear Referees,

District 4 modified its rule this year to allow Direct Free Kick (and
penalty kick) to U10 games. This applies to all U10 Class 1 and Class 3
games. This DOES NOT apply to U10 Class 4 games. If you are doing U10
Class 1,3 games, talk to the coaches first as some coaches may not know
about the new rules. The new D4 rule will be posted to the Jack London
website soon. www.jlysl.org

This is the second week of the season, all clubs have issued players'
passes to their teams. You must enforce the NO PASS NO PLAY rule. The
team without the players' passes will forfeit the game. The two teams can
still scrimmage provided both teams have the medical release forms. It
is very important that you do not officiate the scrimmage if one team
does not have medical release forms as this will open up the league
with lawsuits if a player gets hurt. Referees will still get.

For the new referees, there are some confusions with the CANCEL button
in the MSL website after your request was confirmed. That button does
not mean your game is cancelled, it is for you to cancel your request in
case your schedule has been changed.
