HEAT, Air Quality and Covid ProtocolS

Picture

HEAT GUIDELINES

These guidelines are based on the US Soccer Guidelines. Wet bulb conditions can be very local and note that the temperatures are Wet Bulb Temperatures NOT the normal temperature that you see on your normal forecasting app. To determine the wet bulb temp, use a weather forecasting app like Weather Underground to determine the temperature and humidity. Then use the US Soccer Chart to determine the web bulb temp.

  • Wet Bulb - 87.8-89.7: play with water breaks.
  • Wet Bulb - 89.8 or greater: play should be canceled.

Air Quality Index (AQI)

With increased smoke in our region from recent Northern California wildfires, OSC is implementing training guidelines to help ensure player safety.

0 - 50 AQI GOOD
All ages may train

51 - 100 AQI MODERATE
U12 and younger may train with limited exertion U13 and older may train

101 - 150 AQI UNHEALTHY SENSITIVE
U12 and younger may NOT train U13 and older may train with limited exertion

151+ AQI UNHEALTHY
All ages may NOT train

COVID-19

  • Oakland SC players are allowed to train and compete, but this may change without notice depending on county and state guidelines.
  • Masks are optional.
  • Oakland SC follows Covid-19 protocols and guidance from State of California, CDC and Alameda County
  • We STRONGLY encourage vaccination for all staff and coaches.
  • If a player or coach tests positive, they are required to notify the Club. Participants of that group/team may continue to train but are advised to test for Covid and stay home if they develop symptoms. Anyone who tests positive for Covid-19 may return after seven days from start of symptoms with a negative Covid-19 test or after 10 days from symptom start if still testing positive. The Club will keep confidential and private any person reporting a positive Covid result.
