Oakland Soccer Club Awarded Bid for Oakport Soccer Fields, Ushering in New Era for Community

​OAKLAND, CA – July 1, 2025 – The City of Oakland has officially awarded the Request for Proposal (RFP) bid for Oakport soccer fields to Oakland Soccer Club (OSC). This significant decision marks a pivotal moment for the community, as OSC prepares to assume stewardship of the existing parks and recreation facility, committing to substantial capital improvements to upgrade the fields and structures.

Oakland Soccer Club is currently collaborating closely with the City of Oakland to draft a long-term lease agreement. This partnership is set to activate a currently underutilized space, transforming it into a vibrant hub for sports and community engagement that will profoundly benefit many families in the flatlands of Oakland.
