New Website LAUNCHED and Plans for crest rebrand - February 8, 2021
The board of directors for Oakland Soccer Club announced today their intentions to rebrand the club, effective immediately, as well as the rollout of a new website complete with a temporary club logo to serve while the board works with the OSC community to redesign a forever crest for Oakland SC. In announcing the change, the board issued the following statement, “In considering the new ambition and direction that our club is taking in 2021, and beyond, we felt it appropriate to usher in a new era of Oakland Soccer Club through redesigning our visual identity so that it can better represent our membership and community moving forward. While our logo of today has served us well for many years, we knew the timing was right to make this move and look forward to working with our membership and the Oakland community to design a new logo which can help elevate our brand and better represent all that is OSC.”
In the interim, OSC has revealed a temporary logo which will be used while the club and its members work to design their new crest. This logo will remain in use until a time in which the board reveals its new look. To that end, the OSC board is in talks with several designers and upon selecting an artist, the club will hold several focus group sessions with OSC members, past and present, to ensure that the new logo can live up to the rich history and tradition of OSC.
Through the launch of a new website, the board is excited to provide a better platform for OSC members to remain connected to the club and its many happenings. The global pandemic has been a very challenging period, given the impacts to our local economy, and the OSC board is excited to provide our members with a fresh and exciting club page which can invoke pride and passion for OSC as it re emerges in 2021 and continues to serve its members both on and off the field.
